Man Dies After Being Struck By Dodge Ram At Busy Long Island Intersection

A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a full-size pickup truck at a busy intersection on Long Island.

It happened Saturday, Dec. 28 at approximately 4:10 a.m. in Brentwood.

A man was driving a 2011 Dodge Ram 3500 northbound on Washington Avenue when the vehicle struck a pedestrian who was crossing Washington Avenue near the intersection of Heyward Street, Suffolk County Police said.

The pedestrian, Raul Antonio Granados, 58, of Brentwood, was transported by Brentwood Legion Ambulance to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
